Additional notes
All requests to ProPay require an `account_num` that corresponds to a customer on your platform. You will need to generate a new account for each of your merchants before you can transact against ProPay. See the ProPay API guide for details on creating new accounts. Note that Spreedly does not support creating accounts in ProPay via the Spreedly API. Once you’ve created an account, you can send the `account_num` in subsequent requests via a gateway specific field.
ProPay supports idempotent requests to prevent duplicate credit card transactions. To utilize this, you’ll need to populate the `order_id` field in your transaction request which Spreedly will map to the `invNum` field to ProPay. ProPay will reject transactions as duplicate when the same card is charged for the same amount with the same invoice number, including blank invoices, in a 60 second period. See the ProPay API guide in the “Main Request Elements” table, under the `invNum` field.

Adding a ProPay gateway

Gateway specific response fields

A response from ProPay may contain a inv_num field. For example, a transaction could look similar to the following:

Gateway specific fields

When interacting with a ProPay gateway to run transactions, there are some gateway specific fields you can specify.

Account num

This is the account number for a merchant on your platform. It is required for all transaction requests to ProPay.

Recurring payments

If you would like to make a recurring charge, you will need to send the recurring_payment field with a value of Y as per the ProPay documentation. This should skip CVV validation in your request.
